Our obsession with creating exceptional experiences applies not only to our guests, but also our staff.
+ We purposely choose locations for Somewhere Inn that are four-season, so that we can provide full-time, year-round and socially stable employment.
+ We value transparency and inclusivity and believe that if staff are able to show up as their authentic self then work becomes a lot more fulfilling.
+ We feel very strongly that our staff’s wage reflects the immense impact that they have on our guests. We are proud to be a certified Living Wage employer, and offer a fantastic benefits package.
+ We know that a career in hospitality comes with a unique set of challenges, so we work closely with Not 9 to 5, a non-profit global leader in mental health advocacy for the service and hospitality industries.
We are a basecamp for adventure and exploration. We are passionate about the people and places in our backyard, and want our guests to be too.
+ Our friendly staff are local experts—their role is to help you plan guests’ next adventures, recommend the perfect skin-contact wine, or provide the chill vibe guests need to reconnect with themselves.
+ We have an active voice in the future of our communities. We are proud founding partners of the Calabogie Collective Business Association, which brings local businesses together to elevate the tourism offerings in the area, and our team members hold board positions in the Ottawa Valley Tourism Association and Ontario Highlands Tourism Association.
+ We collaborate closely with local breweries, restaurants, tour operators, and small businesses to make sure guests get an authentic locals-only-know experience.
The connection we have with nature is universal—we believe that nature provides everything we need and a connection to it has the ability to restore and reset.
+ We acknowledge the land on which we are working is located on unceeded Algonquin and Anishinabek traditional Territory. We are grateful that Indigenous People have been stewards of this land and beyond from time immemorial and share it with us today. We are called to treat this land, its waterways, plants, animals, stories, and its Peoples with honour and respect
+ Trees help clean the air we breathe and filter the water we drink. We have partnered with One Tree Planted to restore forests and create habitats for biodiversity in Canada. For each nightly stay we plant one tree on behalf of our guests.
+ We never take for granted the water and energy we use. We strive to minimize our carbon footprint by analyzing our environmental impact at every stage of our guests’ experience. Five dollars from each nightly stay contributes to our ECO fund, which allows us to continually innovate to reduce our climate footprint.
