We love a good date night. But a good date day? That’s where Collingwood really shines.
This is the kind of place where you can spend the morning paddling down a river, the afternoon sipping cider in the countryside, and the evening watching the sun disappear into Georgian Bay with a glass of wine in hand. Whether you’re adventurous, romantic, laid-back, or somewhere in between, Collingwood has a way of making time together feel a little more special.
The best part? There isn’t one perfect date here. There are dozens.
Here are three of our favourites.
For the Adventurous Couple
If your ideal date involves fresh air, a little movement, and discovering somewhere new together, start your day with a paddle on the Beaver River with Free Spirit Tours.

There’s something about being on the water that makes everything else fade into the background. As you drift along the river, you’ll pass towering trees, spot wildlife along the shoreline, and completely forget about the pile of emails waiting for you back home. The pace is slow, the scenery is beautiful, and the conversation somehow flows a little easier when you’re floating downstream.
After your paddle, head straight to Hearts Tavern.

Whether you’re craving a smash burger, fresh oysters, or one of their seasonal salads loaded with local ingredients, they’ve got you covered. It’s the kind of place where everyone at the table ends up saying, “Can I try a bite of that?”
On your way back toward Collingwood, make a stop in the Kimberley General Store.
Trust us on this one.
The Kimberley General Store is one of those spots that feels frozen in time in the best possible way. Browse the shelves, soak up the small-town charm, and don’t leave without a ginger date cookie. We consider them essential road-trip fuel, and honestly, they deserve their own fan club.
When the light starts doing that magical Collingwood thing, make your way to Grey & Gold Cider.
Order a glass of their pét-nat and settle in. After a day spent outdoors, there are few better feelings than kicking back with a crisp cider while looking out over the countryside. It’s relaxed, unpretentious, and exactly how we’d want to end an adventure-filled day.

For the Relaxing & Restorative Couple
Not every great date needs a packed schedule.
Sometimes the best days are the ones where you intentionally do less.
Start your morning at Everlove, where the vibe is calm, welcoming, and exactly what your nervous system has been asking for. Taking a yoga class together might not sound groundbreaking, but there’s something special about beginning the day slowly and moving with intention.

From there, lean fully into relaxation with a couples massage at Cedarwood Wellness Studio.
Life gets busy. Between work, notifications, errands, and trying to keep up with everything, it’s easy to forget what it feels like to completely switch off. A few hours here has a way of fixing that.
By the time you leave, you’ll both be moving a little slower and smiling a little more.
Next, spend the afternoon wandering through Nottawa Cottage Bookstore.
Is there anything more romantic than getting lost in a bookstore together?
One of you leaves with a novel you’ll finish in a weekend. The other somehow ends up with three cookbooks and zero regrets. Browse the cozy shelves, share your favourite finds, and pick out a book for each other. It’s simple, thoughtful, and surprisingly fun.
For dinner, book a table at Down Home.
Everything here feels intentional – from the warm, welcoming atmosphere to the thoughtfully crafted menu that celebrates local ingredients and the people who grow them. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down, savour each course, and stay a little longer than you planned.
For the Romantic Couple
If you’re looking for a date that feels straight out of a movie, this is the one.
Start with a private pottery class at Vara Studios.
A pottery date sounds cute in theory, but it’s even better in practice. You’ll laugh, get clay absolutely everywhere, and discover very quickly which one of you is secretly competitive. The best part? You’ll leave with something you made together – and a memory that’s a lot more meaningful than another photo sitting in your camera roll.

Afterward, it’s time to build the ultimate picnic.
Stop by Dags and Willow for cheese, bread, and snacks, then swing by Gibson & Company for a bottle of wine.
Half the fun is choosing everything together.
Go classic, go adventurous, or grab whatever catches your eye. There’s really no wrong answer when cheese and wine are involved.
Now comes the only difficult decision of the day.

Sunset Point is a classic for a reason. Grab a picnic table by the water, uncork the wine, and watch Georgian Bay put on a show. The sky shifts from gold to pink to lavender, and somehow every sunset feels different than the last.
If you’re looking for something a little quieter, Delphi Beach feels like the local’s choice. Bring a blanket and settle onto the warm slate rocks while the waves roll in nearby. It’s peaceful, intimate, and one of our favourite spots when we want to escape the crowds.
Once the sun dips below the horizon, head to Lore for dinner.

This is date-night dining at its best. Beautifully crafted dishes, thoughtful cocktails, and an atmosphere that feels undeniably special. Whether you’re celebrating something big or simply celebrating a night away together, it’s the kind of place that makes the evening feel like an occasion.
Before calling it a night, stop into The Tremont Cafe.
Order the vermouth.
Trust us on this one.
Find a cozy corner and let the evening stretch a little longer. Some nights are too good to rush home from.
The Perfect Ending
The truth is, there’s no single perfect date in Collingwood.
Maybe your dream day involves paddling down a river, getting lost in a bookstore, or sharing a bottle of wine while the sun sets over Georgian Bay. Maybe it’s all three.
That’s what we love about this place. It gives you room to connect however you like best.
And after a day spent exploring together, there’s something pretty wonderful about coming back to a beautifully designed room, opening one last bottle of wine, and replaying your favourite moments from the day. The pace slows down, the conversations get a little longer, and suddenly there’s nowhere else you’d rather be.
That’s why staying at Somewhere Inn is the perfect wrap-up to a date in Collingwood.
