The Property
Perched atop a small hill and canopied by majestic hard and softwood trees, Somewhere Inn is more than just an accommodation. It’s a place to reconnect with the outdoors. Our thoughtfully landscaped property – with hammocks and fire pits – is designed to help you unplug and connect with your vacation self. Every area of the property features sweeping views of Calabogie Lake and the rolling mountains of the Ottawa Valley.
Fire pits
We have two fire pits that will operate year-round (weather permitting). Whether in the summer for late night hangs or in the winter for that classic Apres ski, our fire pits are the place most guests congregate in the evenings.
Wine Bar
We offer a selection of natural, low-intervention, biodynamic, and organic wine from all over the world. We believe that wine should be accessible, so we have searched near and far to curate an assortment of bottles at prices that are approachable no matter where you are on your wine journey. We love talking wine with guests and locals. Tastings are available upon request – not a bad way to spend an afternoon if you ask us.
Lawn games
We’ve got a number of classic outdoor lawn games available right at the property to cater to your active side. From corn hole to a game of ladder ball, our lawn games are available from May to October. They’re a great way to have some light-hearted fun with your travel mates – or to make some new ones!
Tree Canopy
Our entire property is surrounded by a beautiful, lush forest which is home to countless birds and other wildlife. The trees create a calming sense of separation from real life and the sounds of nature help move you from stress to veg.
Lounge
Our indoor lounge is open all hours for guests and is stuffed full of comfy furniture and vintage board games. You’ll love our nap-inducing hanging chairs and the endless supply of blankets. Don’t miss our nature-inspired movie nights every Friday at 8 pm. Looking for a group retreat? Our 10-person table serves as your hub for facilitated sessions, brainstorms, and catered meals.
Lake views and beach access
A highlight of Somewhere Inn is those pristine lake views with rolling mountains on the horizon. Calabogie Lake is part of the Madawaska River system – and we love showing it off. Whether you’re relaxing in your cozy room or enjoying our outdoor spaces, the lake is always in view. Barnet Beach, a beautiful and sandy freshwater beach is just a 2-minute walk away.
Hammocks
If you’re looking to lounge around, enjoy one of the six onsite hammocks ready to catch you. Located around the property, our hammocks are the perfect place to mellow out, read a book, or just gaze up at the tree canopy and listen to the breeze blow.
Yoga
Our tranquil location is the perfect backdrop for a relaxing outdoor yoga session. Available most Saturdays from the May long weekend through September long weekend, our onsite yoga is led by a local instructor. Guests and locals alike are invited to participate.
