Somewhere Thermal Cycle – Sauna and Cold Plunge

Our Thermal Cycle features a sauna and cold plunge. Situated in a private tree canopied oasis on our grounds, you’ll alternate exposure to high heat in a sauna, cold immersion in a plunge pool, and deep relaxation on our grounds. This contrast therapy helps with muscle recovery, improves circulation, and helps reduce stress. Our Collingwood Thermotherapy Cycle is free for guests and available as a walk-in experience to the public for a fee of $25. If you are new to thermal cycles, stop by the lobby and we will be happy to guide you through the experience. 


1. Hot Sauna

Step into the comforting embrace of our cedar barrel sauna, crafted in Ontario, Canada. Feel the gentle warmth seep into your skin, as the humidity works its magic, revitalizing your senses and invoking an adaptive physiological response.

 + Sauna Barrel 60°C to 100°C  for 15 min
 + Allow the heat to penetrate deeply. 


2. Cold Plunge

Slowly immerse yourself into our cold plunge pool located directly beside the sauna. Breathe deeply and let yourself unwind. The sudden immersion in cold water causes blood vessels to constrict, helping to reduce inflammation, and triggers the release of endorphins, promoting a sense of well-being and mental clarity. In other words, a cold plunge offers tons of science-backed health perks.

 + Cold plunge 0°C to 4°C for up to 3 min
 + Get cool, breathe deeply and relax your body.

3. Rest

Join us back in the Lobby or sink into one of our hammocks. Time spent resting is our favourite step of our cycle. After the rush of going from hot to cold, get ready to sink into a state of total relaxation. It’s a moment to just be still, focus on your breath, and connect with those around you on a deeper level.

 + Sit under the tree canopy for 10 min
 + A time for stillness, breath, and a deeper connection with others.

4. Repeat

According to research, going through the cycle two to three times is the sweet spot for getting the most out of the health perks and leaving you feeling totally refreshed and energized.

 + Maximize benefits by repeating 2-3 times 
 + Leave with your mind and body feeling fresh and reinvigorated.



 + Shower before.
 + Hydrate often.
 + Sit on your towel.
 + Share the space. Make room for others.
 + Listen to your body and continually check-in with yourself. Exit if feeling unwell.
 + Replace the cold plunge cover when you leave.
 + Have fun.
